The steady line through noisy data
We work with data to produce knowledge about how the world works — knowledge a person can use, or a machine can act on.
Steady Variables is a West African data company headquartered in Maitama, Abuja — with roots and partnerships reaching The Gambia, Senegal, and Ghana. We exist because decisions in Nigeria — in business, in policy, in development — are too often made on stale, borrowed, or missing data. Our work is to close that gap: to collect what hasn't been collected, organize what's scattered, and analyze what's misread.
Our name is our method. In any measurement there are variables that swing wildly and signals that hold steady; the craft is telling them apart. We design research instruments around local knowledge, field them with trained and supervised teams, validate during collection rather than after, and deliver datasets and analysis our clients can defend in any room.
Where we're going
Alongside our research and platform work, we're building training-grade language datasets for African languages — starting with Hausa speech — collected ethically and annotated to the standard machine learning demands. It's the same conviction applied to a new frontier: the world runs better on data that actually represents it.
